February Tea Report: 2025 China Exports & US Imports

Data from China Customs and the US Census Bureau (GATS) was recently published regarding China exports and US imports of tea for February 2025.

 

CHINA EXPORTS

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE

• February total export volume INCREASED 9.3% year on year
• YTD totals are UP 9.1% over last year
• Exports of YTD GREEN tea volume INCREASED 18.9% over YTD 2024
• Average prices DECREASED 4.9% over the previous February to $3.52/kg

US IMPORTS

 

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE

• YTD total imports from CHINA are UP 58.2% over 2024
• Average price for imports from CHINA was $4.36/kg, DOWN 30% over February 2024
• 44.6% of YTD GREEN tea import (volume) was from China
• YTD imports of GREEN from China are UP 81.2%
• 29.8% of the month’s US ORGANIC tea import volume was from China (32.2% YTD)
