March Tea Report: 2025 China Exports & US Imports

Data from China Customs and the US Census Bureau (GATS) was recently published regarding China exports and US imports of tea for March 2025.

 

CHINA EXPORTS

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE

• March total export volume INCREASED 9.2% year on year
• YTD totals are UP 9.1% over last year
• Exports of YTD GREEN tea volume INCREASED 19.5% over YTD 2024
• Average prices DECREASED 1.7% over the previous March to $3.44/kg

US IMPORTS

 

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE

• YTD total imports from CHINA are UP 55.6% over 2024
• Average price for imports from CHINA was $4.28/kg, DOWN 22.3% over March 2024
• 40.8% of YTD GREEN tea import (volume) was from China
• YTD imports of GREEN from China are UP 70%
• 29.5% of the month’s US ORGANIC tea import volume was from China (31.6% YTD)
