November Tea Report: 2024 China Exports & US Imports

Data from China Customs and the US Census Bureau (GATS) was recently published regarding China exports and US imports of tea for November 2024.

 

CHINA EXPORTS

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE

• November total export volume INCREASED 1.0% year on year
• YTD totals are UP 1.1% over last year
• Exports of YTD GREEN tea volume INCREASED 4.3% over YTD 2023
• Average prices DECREASED 16.7% over the previous November to $3.73/kg

US IMPORTS

 

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE

• YTD total imports from CHINA are UP 17.6% over 2023
• Average price for imports from CHINA was $4.79/kg, DOWN 3.4% over November 2023
• 31.4% of YTD GREEN tea import (volume) was from China
• YTD imports of GREEN from China are UP 21.3%
• 22.1% of the month’s US ORGANIC tea import volume was from China (28.6% YTD)
