China Production By Province: Sichuan

Sichuan Province has been a leading tea-producing province in China for several consecutive years. The humid subtropical climate gives it a longer growing season with mild summers and cool-warm winters. It is particularly known for its green teas.

Sichuan Province belongs among the higher-producing Western Belt of tea provinces in China.

Sichuan teas play a vital role in green teas for the export market.

Economic development projects in the rural areas of the Western Belt area have contributed to the speedy growth of tea production in Sichuan and the other Western Belt provinces.

As shown in the charts below, Sichuan has been a growing contributor to Western Belt production.
